This past summer one of the most kindest and caring couples I have ever met came into my life. I had the extreme pleasure of coordinating Candise and Griff's intimate wedding of family and close friends at the Malibou Lake Mountain Club in Agoura, CA. The day was sunny and bright, the bride was gorgeous, the groom super handsome and the wedding party of 25+ ALL graciously made their way down the aisle. Being a teacher, there was no surprise that the bride had created personalized accents and decor details to adorn the venue. It was simply pure joy and personal satisfaction in coordinating Candise and Griff's wedding. A special shout out to Candise, the bride... I have so much respect for her professional role as a teacher and I adore the big heart and gentle soul she possesses. The world definitely needs more of her around. CONGRATS Candise and Griff, Love Nam.

Our latest wedding was ten months in the making. Back in January, my dear friend, Jung came into my office, sat down and said, "Nam, I'm ready to get married... now do everything!." Where to find inspiration for your wedding decor? There's one source that potentially has unlimited ideas and cost near to nothing. Magazine covers! One can easily be inspired from simply skimming the rows at a newsstand. Here are some covers I found with gorgeous, bold colors that would make any wedding even more fabulous... and I haven't even looked inside, just covers!

One of my secret passions is gift wrapping... YES!, love, love wrapping gifts. Actually, I also love gift wrap itself - some the most creative and unique artistry can be found in a simple roll of wrapping paper. Some of my favorite places to shop for wrapping paper include Paper Source, The Container Store, and Papyrus. Checkout a recent gift I wrapped for a close friend's birthday!

Wedding Flashback: Mel & Tim

Back in October 2009, we coordinated one of our all-time favorite ceremonies. My dear friends, Mel and Tim we married on the beautiful sands of Coronado Beach in San Diego. Mel was one of the most calm brides I have worked with which is no surprise considering her sweet and gentle nature. The wedding had a quiet yet stylish vibe to it. Mel also gave me the honors of creating all the florals... you must check out the bridesmaids seashell bouquets below! Big props to Susie Linquist for the gorgeous photography. I'm happy to share that Mel and Tim started their own photography company, Mel and Tim Photography. They now have the joy of photographing other couples' BIG DAY. Happy Anniversary you two!!!

Happy Anniversary: Caroline and Dave

It was a little over a year ago that this beautiful couple came into Modern LA Weddings' life. Months after planning by remote (the bride and groom in Canada, us in LA and the wedding in San Diego) they arrived a week before the wedding and full speed ahead we went! I remember a few long days, some stumbles but most of all, an amazing time for Caroline and Dave. Then the lights came on in the ballroom, things were cleared and we all crashed in our hotel rooms. Morning came and the bride and groom got on a plane headed to Mexico for their honeymoon. In less than a week, in and out they came into our lives...one of our most memorable couples for sure! Congrats Caroline and Dave on your 1 Year!!!

After my first visit to the Hartley Botanica, I was was instantly inspired by the surroundings. Ideas ran rapid within my head on how this particular wedding, ultimately, should look. The venue is a true hidden gem in a small pocket of Somis, Ca. It was extra special that I personally knew the bride and groom, Kate & Alec. I have been a close friend of the groom's family for over 12 years. It was an honor and my personal duty to design and plan THE wedding. For months, I worked intensely with the bride, down to the day before the wedding. The end result was a beautiful wedding, filled with details and a personal satisfaction that I will never forget. CONGRATS Kate and Alec, Love Nam.
